Buying a Quad Bike and Quad biking in Scotland.

The son of a friend of mine recently decided to purchase a quad bike,  as he knew that I had run Quad biking in Scotland as an instructor for some time, he asked if I could go along and help him pick out a suitable quad bike for his son to go quad biking on.  My friends son was very keen to purchase a particular quad bike.  It was a 660cc Race quad bike that looked like something off a sci fi film and was nothing like the quad bikes which I was more used to.  The advantage of the quad bikes which I was more used to is that they are easier to control, more stable and far easier to sell on when you wanted to upgrade.  They also tend to be tougher and more reliable.   Unfortunately my presence at the quad biking shop did nothing to change the mind of my friends son and he bought the big shiny red one with the huge engine, riding that thing was going to be a very different experience to the quad bike treks which I ran for my customers.
